Seedance AI Generator
Last Updated: April 3, 2026
Seedance is a high-fidelity multimodal video generation model developed by Bytedance. Widely recognized as the powerhouse behind the popular Jimeng (即梦) app, Seedance functions as a directorial engine. Unlike standard text-to-video tools, it allows users to input images, video, and audio simultaneously to control specific aspects of the generation—from camera motion to character identity.
With the highly anticipated release of Seedance 2.0 in April 2026, the model now natively supports 720p resolution and extended 15-second generation with integrated audio. Whether you are creating character-driven stories or dynamic product demos, this guide breaks down everything you need to know about the latest model.
Current Version: Seedance 2.0 (Now live on Somake AI). Access legacy versions via the left-hand panel.
What's New in Seedance 2.0
Extended Duration: Maximum video length increased from 12 seconds to 15 seconds per generation.
Important Change (Real Faces Restricted): Unlike previous iterations, Seedance 2.0 currently does not support the generation of real human faces. Users needing photorealistic humans will need to use legacy versions.
What Makes Seedance 2.0 Superior?
Multimodal Reference System
Upload up to 12 assets (9 images, 3 videos, 3 audio files) to direct generation. Lock a character's face with an image, drive camera movement with a reference video, and sync lip movements to an audio track—all at once.
Physics-Compliant Simulation
Objects respect mass, momentum, and collision rules. Fabric flows naturally, characters interact solidly with environments, and water, smoke, and particle effects behave according to real-world physics.
Native Audio-Video Sync
Generate synchronized dialogue, sound effects, and ambient audio in one pass. Lip movements match speech with frame-level accuracy across 6+ supported languages.
Semantic Video Editing
Modify existing footage with natural language commands (e.g., "Replace the red car with a vintage truck"). The model updates target pixels while preserving original lighting, grain, and physics.
Best Use Cases
| Use Case | Why Seedance 2.0 Excels |
|---|---|
| Character-Driven Stories | Maintains facial features and clothing across scenes using reference images |
| Product Demos | Accurate physics keeps items realistic during handling |
| Talking Head Content | Multi-language lip sync without reshoots |
| Anime & Stylized Animation | Respects 2D conventions while adding fluid motion |
| Music Videos | Beat-matched footage through audio waveform analysis |
Prompt Guide
Seedance 2.0 uses @ mention syntax to assign roles to uploaded files.
Templates:
Set first frame: @Image1 as the first frame.
Motion Transfer: @Image1 as the main character. Reference @Video1 for walking motion and camera angle.
Video Extension: Extend @Video1 by 5 seconds. Pan camera upward to reveal the sky.
Semantic Editing: Reference @Video1. Change the weather from sunny to rainy.
